I'd say it's about the same, train or plane. The train is a bit more expensive, but it takes directly from central London to central Paris, in about 3h30.The cheapest fare (advanced booking, non refundable) is EUR65 (USD80).

The flight itself is faster (about an hour) and less expensive, but it flies between airports which are away from the city centre. You would take time to go to the airport in London (and pay the fare) and more time to get to Paris from the airport (and the fare - usually more then 10 euros).
